FAQ

Do we have to be members to have a wedding at fort street?

No. The church is available for members and non-members. Please note that all weddings at Fort Street require pre-marital counseling sessions with a pastor before the wedding takes place.

What parts of the building can we use for weddings?

For each wedding, separate preparation rooms are available for the couple and wedding party.  The McMillan Room serves as a bridal suite, and its historic features are great for photographs.  The Great Hall also is available for the wedding party and other invited guests, including the option to have lunch in the Great Hall.

What parking is available at Fort Street?

Fort Street owns two parking lots with enough space for 130 cars.  Fort Street staff serve as parking attendants in each lot and direct guests on how to enter the building for the wedding. Additional parking may be made available for exceptionally large weddings.  (More information on Fort Street's parking is available here.

We would like to have our own minister officiate the wedding. Is that possible?

To make sure weddings fit our standards for the ceremony and the space, weddings at Fort Street require the participation of at least one minister from Fort Street Presbyterian Church. However, the Fort Street minister may work with a guest minister or officiant to plan appropriate ways for the guest minister to preside over portions of the wedding service.

We have our own wedding planner we would like to use. Is that OK?

All weddings at Fort Street require the oversight of the church’s Wedding Coordinator, Loretta Stanton. All of the details regarding the ceremony and the use of the Fort Street facilities are managed by Ms. Stanton. Outside wedding planners are free to assist on any of the other parts of your wedding festivities taking place outside of the church.
